If you haven’t yet listened to the magnificent band Dawes, allow me to predict your future…
You’ll hear them somewhere, maybe in public, maybe in a friend’s car and an interest will be sparked. You’ll go home, find some of their music online and listen. You’ll find a simplicity in their music, you may even refer to it as ‘refreshing’. The songs may sound familiar, like an old friend you remember from high school, but there is still a new and exciting feeling. The masterpiece that is Taylor Goldsmith’s lyrics will trigger a personal moment you either can’t help but think of, or one you’ve been trying to forget. Hopefully you’ll see them live someday, more than once, and get a total kick out of the crazy faces Taylor and Griffin make. Soon, you’ll realize they’re one of the greatest bands ever and then probably reblog this post.
